EXPEDITION OVERVIEW

Egypt’s Red Sea is where dramatic reef walls, powerful drifts, historic wrecks and crystal-clear blue water come together. This 7-day BubbleTrail expedition takes us through Sharm El Sheikh, Ras Mohammed, the Straits of Tiran and Dahab, with 10 guided dives across some of the Red Sea’s most iconic underwater landscapes.

From drifting along coral-covered walls to exploring the legendary SS Thistlegorm and diving Dahab’s Canyon and Blue Hole, this is a trip built around variety, progression and unforgettable diving.

WHO CAN JOIN?
This expedition is designed for Advanced Open Water certified divers who are comfortable in varied dive conditions and want to experience some of the Red Sea's most legendary sites. Good buoyancy control and recent diving experience are important, as the itinerary can include currents, drift dives, deeper profiles and wreck diving

7 Days in the Red Sea

DAY 1

Welcome to Sharm El Sheikh

Arrive in Sharm El Sheikh, settle in and meet the group. We’ll get our gear organised, run through the expedition briefing and get ready for the week of Red Sea diving ahead.

DAY 2

Into the Red Sea

Our first full day underwater. Ease into Red Sea diving with spectacular reefs, clear blue water and the chance to encounter the incredible marine life this region is known for.

DAY 3

Ras Mohammed

Dive the legendary reefs of Ras Mohammed National Park, where dramatic walls, thriving coral gardens and open blue water create some of the Red Sea’s most memorable diving.

DAY 4

Straits of Tiran

Head out towards the Straits of Tiran for another day of spectacular reef diving, with current-swept sites, colourful coral walls and the possibility of larger marine encounters.

DAY 5

The Legendary SS Thistlegorm

A highlight of the expedition. Journey out to the SS Thistlegorm, the iconic WWII wreck resting beneath the Red Sea, for an unforgettable day exploring one of the world’s most celebrated wreck dives.

Dahab – Canyon & Blue Hole

Take the adventure to Dahab for a completely different side of Red Sea diving, including two of its most famous sites — the Canyon and the legendary Blue Hole.

DAY 7

Until the Next Dive

A relaxed final morning in Egypt before checking out and beginning the journey home — with a logbook full of Red Sea dives and plenty of stories from the week.

Frequently Asked Questions

What certification do I need to join? +
This expedition is designed for Advanced Open Water certified divers. You should be comfortable with varied conditions, including currents, drift diving, deeper profiles and wreck diving.
How recent does my diving experience need to be? +
Your last logged dive should be within 12 months of the expedition. We may also ask for proof of certification and recent logged dives before confirming your participation.
I’m travelling solo. Can I join? +
Absolutely. BubbleTrail expeditions are built around small groups, making it easy for solo divers to join the crew, meet other divers and share the experience both above and below the surface.
Do I need to bring my own dive equipment? +
Dive equipment is available as part of the expedition setup, with some items such as dive computers handled separately. If you prefer diving with your own equipment, you are welcome to bring it. We’ll confirm the exact equipment requirements with you before the trip.
Do I need dive and travel insurance? +
Yes. Dive insurance is mandatory for this expedition, and we strongly recommend appropriate travel insurance as well. Divers must also be medically fit to dive and may be asked to provide medical clearance where required.
Will we definitely dive every site listed? +
The itinerary is planned around iconic sites such as Ras Mohammed, the Straits of Tiran, SS Thistlegorm and Dahab. However, dive plans may change based on sea conditions, weather, safety and operational requirements. The final decision on all dives rests with the dive team.
Do I need a visa for Egypt? +
Visa and entry requirements depend on your nationality and travel plans. Travellers are responsible for ensuring they have the correct passport, visa and immigration documentation before departure. We’ll share the trip-specific travel guidance with you during the planning process.
